Our Vision

We Are Dedicated To Shaping Young Women Athletes Into Confident, Healthy, And Successful Leaders.

With more than 50 years of learning under Title IX, we are reminded of the continued need for diverse and equitable opportunity for all people. It is proven that youth athletics cements the foundation of character, leadership, and perseverance, values that mold young people into leaders for tomorrow.

the mission

  • To provide transformative sports leadership programs

  • To foster physical health and mental wellness

  • To build an inclusive athletic community

  • To provide a safe, family-friendly environment

  • To honor the legacy of women’s sports

The Marvella Foundation is dedicated to making "The Girls Sports Leadership Experience" available to  all girls and women who might otherwise have the benefit of our live-enriching training and educational programs. We are also committed to enriching the local and regional communities of Newton County, our  neighbors in Jaspar County, the entire Northwest Indiana region, the Hoosier state as a whole and our surrounding states.  The President of the Marvella Foundation, Allison Barber, Phd, is herself a native of the region. As a young girl, with a passion for basketball she had no organized teams available to her until she reached college. Her thirst for opportunity and the enrichment of  our future leaders in a safe, nurturing environment of growth  are front and center of everything we do at Marvella.
